MARVEL Research Group On-going Projects

1) MARVEL / MORPHED Research (along the lines of VPR), but focused on projects
   like the data-glove + stereo-camera sensor fusion project that resulted in
   publication in wearable computers A hybrid sign language recognition system

   Future work releated to MARVEL and MORPHED:

   * photos of related projects done in 5623, IS, and for MORPHED
     Photos and Video of Projects

   * robotic systems with RT stereo vision

   * virtual translation and presence systems for physically challenged 
     (MORPHED)

   * video streaming scalability

   * speech to text, text to speech

   * Soft RT and QoS research related to MARVEL/MORPHED applications

2) Wind River RT Linux research (presenting tutorials for WRS at int'l conf in 
   Orlando - http://www.windriverevents.com/userconference06)

3) Looking into RedHawk RT Linux (used for HPC and VoD soft RT MP/cluster 
   platforms)

4) Basic IS research on-going in feed-back RT scheduling of resources 
   incorporating DVS power management and built-in PMUs on PowerPC and IA32/64

5) Storage research for QoS/real-time video streaming, capture, playback, etc
