I was born in Berkeley California and grew up there mostly, but I have lived in: the San Francisco Bay Area, London, Portland Oregon, Houston Texas, South Bend IN (outside Chicago), and in Boulder Colorado.


Career Summary:

I currently work at Atrato Inc. on embedded Linux for a custom IO controller and helped start the Software team as SW/FW engineer #1.

Research Interests include:

  1. Autonomic Computing Architectures - Self-Configuring, Healing, Optimizing, Protecting Systems
  2. Real-Time Embedded Systems - Continuous Media (digital video and audio)
  3. SoC ASIC Performance and HW/SW Co-design

The best job I ever had was as a lifeguard in high school - never a bad day at the pool!!

The worst job I ever had was dumping 2,000 bottles of bad salad dressing into toxic waste drums (I still hate ranch dressing).
